Betty Crocker's Cooking Basics is the cookbook we use every year as our Thanksgiving meal guide. It lays out a Thanksgiving menu and cooking time line for your convenience. The flavors of Thanksgiving, for my family, are best kept simple. We like the traditional tastes best so that's how we did it this year, as you can see.
*We had roasted butternut squash soup as an appetizer since our turkey took a bit longer than expected. Hopefully I'll get a recipe and pictures up soon.
**There was corn too.

Tell me I didn't see "canned cranberry sauce" on that Thanksgiving table!! Girl, go buy yourself a bag of fresh cranberries, use the recipe on the back of the bag (takes 15 minutes tops) and everyone will think you slaved for hours. Next Thanksgiving, for sure!
ReplyDeleteHaha actually I hate cranberry sauce. My dad on the other hand, who is a foodie's worst nightmare, will only eat canned. We made homemade last year and he wouldn't even smell it. But don't worry, it was only to appease him and his refined tastes of chips ahoy, ho-hos, hostess cupcakes & the more bleached/pasteurized/homogenized/processed, the better for him. It's not easy to be a growing cook with him in the house=/
ReplyDeleteI have a very picky family member, too. It makes meal planning very difficult.
