A Year of Baking

Saturday, January 1, 2011
I know everyone's doing it, and so am I.

So here's my
Year of Baking.

January:

I turned 17 (eek!). I made these cupcakes after receiving some from POM Wonderful juice, and went all out. My neighbor Julia went crazy for them and always begs me to make them again for her=)

February:

This was the time know as "Snowmageddon". I had too many snowdays so I spent my time wisely. Baking!

March:

I made the best EVER red velvet cake. I will never try another recipe for this cake, ever. I found "The One".

April:

This was a rough month for baking. I also went to prom!

May:

Hands down, the best thing I made in May were macarons. I made this for a presentation I did on France. I gave them to a ton of people at school and I still get compliments on them!

June:

I got my wisdom teeth out (ouchhh), had my blogoversary (yay!), and made some ice creams.

July:

I went zucchini crazy this month! I also made whoopie pies and bakesale items. I also went on a bomb vacation with my best friend and neighbor. It was a good month=)

August:

I started making homemade bread, made some nice dinners, and tackled one awesome
cupcake project.

September:

Not the best month for baking, but I had fun with oreo's!

October:

This bark was OMG delicious and so fun to play around with! I did a week of pumpkin that you just have to see to believe!!

November:

I made some bundts, went to Homecoming, and, oh yeah, hit up NYC!!!

December:

I loved everything I made in December, and some I didn't even get around to blogging yet! This was definitely one of the best Christmas baking seasons I've had in my short life.

You really had a wonderful year. I am amazed that a 1st year kitchen produced such an array of gorgeous food. This is my first visit to your blog so I spent some time browsing through your earlier entries. I really love the food and recipes you feature here. I'll definitely be back. I hope you are having a great day. Blessings...Mary
