I noticed you were going to make Cookie Madness browned butter pecan pie. I made two of them at different times last week-The first one was kind of runny. I kept my second pie in the oven for an additional 10 or 15 minutes. Anna updated the recipe today to include a longer cook time because she told me (also today) hers came out runny also. My opinion is it is the best pecan pie I've ever tasted. What did you think of it?
Gloria,
Well, he he, I haven't made it yet. I was actually planning on making it tomorrow for sure. I got really ambitious with homemade cinnamon rolls and dinner rolls, and we also had pumpkin pie instead of the chocolate one, that it just didn't seem like the pecan pie would be enjoyed until the others were finished off. But thank you for the information! Hopefully that will help me when I do make it. And I'll post it up and tell you how it went=)I'm very excited for it because it'll will be my first!
I'll look forward to seeing your comments. Most pecan pies call for just about as much sweeteners, but not nearly as much salt. My opinion is the salt and the browned butter flavor is what sets it apart and gives the pie almost a caramel flavor. Also, I can't believe you are only 16! I could barely boil water at 16!
Update: We now have the sparkling white grape juice. Two bottles, to be precise, and I even had coupon for the Welch's brand. Thanksgiving has been saved!
